The hype behind The Imitation Game has been deafening for what feels like months at this point, and somehow we are still two weeks away from the film’s North American debut. We do have a new trailer however, and it serves to only further our excitement for Morten Tyldum’s latest work.
Starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Alan Turning, a man known more for his personal life than the astounding contributions he made to science during World War II, The Imitation Game follows one man’s attempt to bring down the Nazi party at a time when Hitler’s movement appeared unstoppable. The latest trailer runs right around a minute in length, so the footage shown is all the best bits, but due to their brevity it’s pretty hard to understand what’s happening amidst all the yelling, crying, and talk of war. You can view the footage below:
The official synopsis reads:
In THE IMITATION GAME, Benedict Cumberbatch stars as Alan Turing, the genius British mathematician, logician, cryptologist and computer scientist who led the charge to crack the German Enigma Code that helped the Allies win WWII. Turing went on to assist with the development of computers at the University of Manchester after the war, but was prosecuted by the UK government in 1952 for homosexual acts which the country deemed illegal.
The Imitation Game opens nationwide on November 28.
